METIS - your digital overview of bans and restrictions

Are possible bans and restrictions in connection with the import and export of your articles giving you a headache? Checking is complex and time-consuming?

METIS makes it easy: With your personal access, you can check on your laptop, smartphone, or tablet in seconds using the correct customs tariff number to see whether your items are subject to import bans, export restrictions, or whether the goods lists of the Dual-Use Regulation (EU) 2021/821 might apply.

The VB numbers are displayed in accordance with the Findok working guidelines for potentially applicable bans and restrictions, references to a possible listing in the Dual-Use Regulation, and possible impact of the “No Re-Export to Russia/Belarus” issue.

Currently, possible impact from Regulation (EU) 2019/125 (“Anti-Torture Regulation”), CBAM, REACH, POP, and the EUDR are not yet displayed. We are currently working on covering these topics and will keep you informed.

In addition, METIS shows you the applicable or possible VAT rates and information on possible excise duties – all clearly and quickly.

Restrictions that are not (primarily) based on the tariff number, such as various restrictions resulting from embargo regulations or licensing requirements for military goods and war material, as well as market regulation provisions (e.g., AMA licensing requirements), are not available via METIS.
